MINION NIGHT LIGHT

DESIGN BRIEF

Design and surface a Minion night light that uses Jasco's LED Motion sensing, plug-in light, and matches their other character night lights.

Project was in contract with Universal and had to be approved by them for manufacturing.

SURFACING

I used this image of Bob from the movie to surface my model, using Fusion 360.

Bob was the best choice due to his small, stout shape, which fit the light better.

FIRST VERSION

Version one was simplified in order to be injection molded in one shot. Universal came back with some adjustments it needed for approval including specific foot measurements, goggle measurements and hand position. We decided to make the goggles, gloves, and mouth separately molded pieces to fit with the character specs and reduce painting costs.
